Parakite
Equipment Briefing

Gear handover · Technical characteristics · Usage instructions

The parakite is a reflex-profile wing that behaves significantly differently from a conventional paraglider. As a rental operator, Dunewing provides every tenant with the technical characteristics of the rented wing and the manufacturer’s usage instructions.

This equipment briefing is included in the rental price. It does not constitute sports instruction or supervised practice — it is the responsible handover of equipment by a rental operator to its customer.

Parakite rental is reserved for autonomous, experienced paragliding pilots. The customer is solely responsible for their flying decisions and assumes full liability for their practice.

Rental operator information

Why this equipment briefing is included

The reflex-profile parakite has mechanical characteristics that differ from a conventional paraglider. Dunewing, as a rental operator, has an obligation to inform customers of the specific features and usage limits of the equipment provided.

Key differences from paragliding
  • Higher speed, wider wind range
  • Less tolerance for errors in strong wind
  • Ground control and slope positioning are critical
  • More dynamic launch — precision and timing required
Technical characteristics

Why the parakite holds in strong wind

Reflex profile: structural stability, resistance to collapses, closed-cell Skytex fabric. Technical characteristics inherent to the design of the rented equipment.

Equipment usage prohibitions

  • Use in turbulent or thermal conditions (manufacturer prohibition)
  • Storing the wing wet or sandy without prior cleaning
  • Exposing the equipment to temperatures above 50°C
  • Using the equipment at another site without prior written consent from Dunewing
  • Lending or transferring the rented equipment to a third party
